Marvel Rivals is a new 6v6 third-person hero shooter from NetEase Games in collaboration with Disney's Marvel Games. It is a free-to-play title available across all current-generation platforms. Built on Unreal Engine 5, the game launched with eight original maps based on iconic landmarks seen in Marvel movies and comics.
Since its launch in December last year, the game has evolved with a large roster of characters with seasonal additions like the Fantastic Four, Daredevil, and Angela. With the new upcoming Season 5.5 update, Marvel Rivals players are getting a new Vanguard, Rogue. Here's a look at her abilities in Marvel Rivals.
Marvel Rivals: Rogue 101
Let us begin with a rundown of Rogue in Marvel Rivals. Rogue is a melee and close-ranged strategist character with the ability to take medium- and short-range fights. Here's a complete overview of Rogue's move set:
- Power Surge Punch (Normal Attack): Punch forward with both fists. The first two strikes deal 35 damage, while the third strike deals 45 damage.
- Fatal Attraction: Dash forward. Press again to unleash a burst of Chronovium Power from her ring, dealing continuous damage to nearby foes; after a delay, the energy retracts, pulling all enemies towards Rogue.
- Chrono Kick Combo: Dash forward and launch the enemy, entering flight; activate again to knock down nearby enemies. Your next two Power Surge Punch attacks become ranged, piercing enemies and granting bonus health.
- Ability Absorption: Dash forward to knock down your target and absorb their energy; after absorbing, replace Ability Absorption with one of their abilities or refresh Fatal Attraction. Also, absorb health and stats based on their role.
- Southern Brawl: While in defensive stance, dash forward and slam enemies in front, dealing area damage.
- Defensive Stance: Absorb nearby projectiles and reduce incoming damage; absorbed damage powers up your next Southern Brawl.
- Heartbreaker (Ultimate): Continuously absorb Ultimate Ability Energy from nearby enemies and steal stats based on their role.
Rogue will be the second character to join the hero roster in Season 5, with Gambit being the first hero of this update. From the looks of her abilities, it is apparent that Rogue will be a worthy Strategist to dominate the close-range and brawling gameplay meta of the remaining half of Season 5.
