Lies of P is an exceptionally challenging game, and Neowiz Games, the developers, have gone to great lengths to ensure that character levelling in the game genuinely has a significant impact.
You can increase your level by investing your Ergo currency with NPC Sophia, earned through defeating enemies or selling items to vendors. As you progress, each subsequent level will require a higher amount of Ergo.
However, a common question arises regarding the allocation of upgrades among the various attributes. If you find yourself uncertain, this guide aims to provide detailed explanations of each category, their implications, and the advantages they confer.
What each ability represents in Lies of P
Vitality
As you might expect, Vitality corresponds to the upgrading of your health points, or HP. This attribute operates quite straightforwardly: the more you invest in it, the larger your health bar grows, enabling you to endure longer in challenging battles. Furthermore, when you invest in Vitality, it boosts Guard Regain, indicating the amount of lost health that can be recovered by attacking enemies after successfully blocking their attacks.
Vigor
Allocating points to Vigor will enhance your stamina pool. Stamina is represented by the yellow bar located beneath your health bar and is depleted when you sprint, dodge, and swing your weapon. It's worth noting that heavier weapons consume more stamina with each swing.
Capacity
Investing your Ergo into Capacity will raise your character's maximum weight limit. If the gear you're carrying exceeds this limit, your character's movement speed will decrease, and stamina consumption will increase for stamina-dependent actions. Additionally, Capacity augments your Legion Arm's stats, referred to as Legion.
Motivity
Motivity primarily enhances your physical attack strength, impacting both your primary weapon and Legion Arm. Importantly, increasing your Motivity level generally results in more powerful strikes, ultimately contributing to the overall effectiveness of the weapon you wield. It's crucial to note that this upgrade operates independently of weapon enhancements.
Technique
Initially, Motivity and Technique may appear to enhance similar attributes. However, upon closer examination, allocating upgrade points to Technique primarily bolsters the physical attack of the Legion Arm, whereas Motivity predominantly amplifies the regular physical attack.
Advance
The Advance ability primarily concentrates on bolstering resistance statistics against elemental attacks like fire, shock, decay, and similar damage types while also augmenting the attack capabilities of the Legion Arm.
It's important to note that each time you upgrade any of the abilities, all your defensive abilities will rise by one digit, so regardless of which ability you prefer, defensive abilities will always rise.
