Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S lets gamers choose between allowing or blocking online matchmaking outside the Xbox Live service in global settings. Follow this guide to set up cross-play on the Next-Gen.
Cross-play is an awesome feature that connects players across platforms in online multiplayer games. Sometimes it's great, but sometimes it's.. well, you just want to turn it off.
There's a really neat option on the new Xbox Series X and Series S consoles which offers gamers to toggle the global Cross-play option On or Off, so if you want to stop playing with people outside Xbox Live service, let's say, PC, you can turn off this feature in the settings of your console, and it will be implemented in-game, where available.
Here's how to do it in just a "few" steps:
If you leave it on Allow, multiplayer matchmaking will be quicker, because the player base will expand across supported platforms (Xbox, PC, Mobile, PlayStation), and choosing Block will prevent your games to search for players outside Xbox Live but it could result in slower matchmaking.
