League of Legends European Championship 2020 season is kicking off on Friday, 24 January 2020 but the broadcast will happen on a different Twitch channel. Oddly enough, Riot Games didn't make an official announcement but it shouldn't be a problem finding it.

LEC broadcast change

LEC 2020 broadcasts will be slightly different because Riot Games decided to move the game to a different Twitch channel for some reason. Riot Games channel will apparently the but this is likely to change in the future as the European stream finds its footing.

Therefore, it might be best you followed the LEC channel immediately in case you are interested in following the league and don't want to miss out on the happenings. Alternatively, there is the where all the streams of all Riot competitions can be watched. YouTube stream will remain unchanged.

As for the time and date, the first round of LEC matches will start on Friday, 24 January 2020 and continue the day after.

LEC 2020 schedule for Spring Split start is as follows:

24 January 2020:

  • 18:00 - G2 Esports vs MAD Lions
  • 19:00 - Vitality vs SK Gaming
  • 20:00 - Misfits vs Rogue
  • 21:00 - Schalke 04 vs Excel Esports
  • 22:00 - Fnatic vs Origen

25 January 2020:

  • 17:00 - Vitality vs MAD Lions
  • 18:00 - Rogue vs Excel Esports
  • 19:00 - Schalke 04 vs Origen
  • 20:00 - Misfits vs Fnatic
  • 21:00 - G2 Esports vs SK Gaming

MAD Lions are sort of new to LEC but kind of not. They gained the spot because the parent company of both MAD and Splyce shut the latter brand down after World Championship 2020.

However, the roster is completely new except for Humanoid, who remained on the team so it might be unrealistic to expect performances that got SPY into the quarterfinals of League of Legends World Championship 2019.
