Paradox Interactive have revealed The Baron's faction for Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines 2. The enigmatic criminal leader of this faction rarely shows himself, is indifferent to everyone's background and has seemingly endless ideas.

The Baron himself is apparently an enigmatic vampire that has accrued enough power and favours owed that he could be a proper competitor for the Princedom of Seattle. No one can say why really but The Baron is content with keeping to his own turf and hoarding power in back alleys but it's probably because he avoids the spotlight and becoming the Prince certainly comes with a big one.

From the official description, it appears that The Baron takes the less fortunate, regardless of whether they are humans, thinbloods, vampires or ghouls.

Whatever their background may be, The Baron seems to have a job for them, provided they can see it through but there are hints these jobs are unsavoury enough to act as a filter for those not ready to listen to his commands. On the flip side, those who are willing to do what The Baron orders stand to gain power and promotion in a quick fashion.

As for the rest of Seattle's inhabitants, they don't like The Baron or his people. Paradox didn't explicitly say why but the fact that the faction's modus operandi relies on helping anyone willing to be indebted to the mysterious faction leader probably means he's playing all the other sides. He's essentially the equivalent of an arms dealer selling weapons to everyone in a conflict.

Therefore, despite the other factions not liking The Baron, they still indulge in services he has to offer as some claim that it's better to be indebted to the Devil you know.

Playing all sides carries the increased risk of finding oneself under attack and The Baron has no illusions about this. He appears untouchable for the moment but he is well aware that all of it hinges on staying one step ahead of the competition.
