EA Sports have officially set the date for UFC 4 with the official reveal trailer, and the game launches on August 14, 2020, for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
"Go from unknown amateur to UFC superstar in the new Career Mode, experience the origins of combat sports in two all-new environments, or challenge the world in new Blitz Battles or Online World Championships to become the undisputed champ. All of your fights will now feel more authentic with fluid clinch-to-strike combinations that offer more responsive stand-up gameplay, and overhauled takedown and ground mechanics to deliver more control in those key phases of the fight", the description reads.
UFC 4's official cover stars are Israel Madesanya and Jorge Masvidal, much of whom you'll see in the trailer. Preordering gets you Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, but we make it a habit to warn our readers of at least thinking twice before preordering.
According to the official website, UFC 4 brings many more venues to the game. These range from backyard brawling cages to UFC Apex and Action Avenue locations.
EA Sports implemented something they call Real Player Motion Technology, which should make the clinch a more "fluid experience driven by positioning and physical context."
The same tech has been thrown into UFC 4's takedown gameplay, with more animations and a larger spectrum of outcomes, depending on user controls and their choice of fighters.
EA Sports claim that UFC 4 players particularly fond of ground and pound should find that it's more controlled than ever. strikers will have more tools to aim and pick their spots, while defenders will be more in control of head movement and timed-counter transitions.
