John "TotalBiscuit" Bain may be gone, but his legacy is far from it. The famous critic and journalist will be posthumously inducted into Esports Hall of Fame by ESL and paysafecard during ESL One that will be held in Hamburg, Germany.
Almost five months have gone by since TotalBiscuit passed away, leaving the world without one of the most respected critics on the internet. His legacy will be carried further by ESL though, as the organisation will induct him into their Esports Hall of Fame at the end of October 2018.
The induction is set to happen during ESL One Hamburg 2018, which will run from 23 October to 29 October 2018. The event's major game will be Dota 2, which is somewhat ironic since TotalBiscuit also promoted the game's biggest competitor - League of Legends.
Those are hardly all of his achievements though, as ESL pointed out - John Bain also founded WoW Radio and his immensely popular YouTube shows and podcasts, under the pseudonyms TotalBiscuit, TotalHalibut and The Cynical Brit.
TotalBiscuit eventually formed a professional StarCraft 2 team, Axiom and heavily promoted esports during his years. While ESL points out that Bain's influence on esports can not be understated as his passion and support helped drive various competitive titles towards the heights they reached today, one of his largest contributions to the gaming world is his promotion of indie titles.
The man has reviewed, praised and otherwise promoted indie titles in hopes of getting the developers the acclaim he deemed as due. Granted, not everyone looked kindly upon TotalBiscuit, some of being the fallout of Gamergate controversy, but most gamers remember him as the critic who stood up for the consumers in an industry driven by the maximisation of companies' profit to the detriment of their users.
Some of Bain's most popular work can be seen through the "WTF is..." series that are still available on his TotalBiscuit YouTube channel .
