Unknown Worlds Entertainment rolled out a hefty update for Subnautica: Below Zero, adding Marguerit's Greenhouse with new plants and recipes, Recyclotron, new accommodations, story elements and more.

The dev team has been pretty quiet this past month but with so much to do around Subnautica: Below Zero's new story and other elements, it's more than understandable. Besides, there's a lot to go through in the new update, so lets' dig in.

It's not coincidental that the update is called Salad Days because you better get ready to subsist on whole lotta greens. Marguerit's Greenhouse lets you whip up salads, cuddle with Marguerit's Snow Stalker or learn how to farm strange new plants.

Recyclotron should be pretty self-explanatory, even more so for Subnautica players who needed a way to dismantle crafted objects, but that's still just the tip of the iceberg. Pun intended, we suppose.

Subnautica: Below Zero players can now reach Arctic Spires via Glacial Bay with a new bridge, although it needs to be repaired first. It's well worth it though, and there's plenty to see once you're there, like a gargantuan, felled Ice Worm.

The dev added some new, expressive emotes that will let you express exactly how you feel about Subnautica: Below Zero's temperatures. Speaking of temperatures, you can warm yourself up with some hot coffee, including carrying it around in what Unknown Worlds call an "environmentally friendly thermos".

Snow Stalkers now have additional stalking behaviours, which shouldn't be problematic provided you have enough flares.

In addition to some new and polished locations, Subnautica: Below Zero's new story got a few new additions, for which the dev wrote, "From PDA entries, to detail work in Alterra’s abandoned bases, and the Radio Tower location, there’s plenty to explore and uncover as you piece together the clues about Sam’s disappearance."
