Unknown Worlds Entertainment have rolled out the latest update to Subnautica: Below Zero dubbed Relics of the Past, and the name is enough of a hint of what awaits inside.
Now, if you've played Subnautica, you're well aware that piecing together the mysteries of Planet 4546B was one of the most exciting parts of the game. Unknown Worlds are bringing some of that excitement back with the Relics of the Past update, and the trailer is mouthwatering, no pun intended.
With the dev's internal changes came the new story and the Relics of the Past update presents Subnautica: Below Zero in its most complete form. It's now fully voiced almost to the end, and Robin even got a revamped look, with a new Dive Suit and model.
Explorers who dare to venture to the end of the world will find a new Leviathan, a rare mutation of Chelicerate - the Void Chelicerate - and it's not very friendly. You can also uncover secrets of the ancient Architects in the Precursor Caches, located in "eerie and abandoned areas of the planet".
Subnautica: Below Zero will now make it easier to continue your sessions even when your mistakes result in an untimely end, as long as you have a beacon in your inventory. If you do - it will drop on your death, so finding your last location and reclaiming any lost items will be a breeze.
Last but most certainly not the least is the PDA pause, which means that bringing up the PDA will now pause the game, removing the (sometimes pretty frustrating) need to get to a safe and oxygenated area to check up on the data stored within.
