Some fans got spooked that Riot Games MMO might end up being solely a PvE title but those fears were recently put to rest.
Riot Games made their name on PvP titles. League of Legends was their only game for a long time and it's all about teams of players beating each other up. It was followed by Valorant, another highly successful esport while TFT had a lot of success in its own genre. All of them were about measuring up to your peers, not farming random AI enemies.
However, the developers' wording in recent months led some fans to believe that the upcoming Riot Games MMO wouldn't have PvP for some reason and the fear started spreading over forums and social media.
On December 2, 2021, Greg Street, who is kind of a big deal on the matter, strongly hinted that PvP will be present in the game . This was apparently not enough and some of the more pessimistic gamers persisted in their belief that the MMO would end up being PvE-only.
Street once again tweeted, almost three weeks later, this time explicitly confirming the MMO would have PvP. He only didn't confirm which format the PvP would have as it could end up being open-world ganks, arenas or esports - they all fall under the same umbrella of "player versus player".
In any case, that's one fear that was dispelled about the game so you might rest easy now, knowing that you can get the competitive thrills in the future, possibly at the cost of your sanity, should you read the chat at the same time.
