Sony have dropped the first images of the PlayStation VR 2 device which brings slimmer and more ergonomic design.
The new PlayStation VR device has a similar design shape as the PS VR 2 Sense controller. Sony calls this "matching orb look".
You'll also notice that Sony decided to keep white as the main colour, continuing the trend that started with their next-gen console PlayStation 5, which primarily comes in white.
Sony said they've paid close attention to the ergonomics of the headset to ensure a comfortable feel for various head sizes.
The adjustable headband makes a return as well as the adjustable scope that places the scope area closer or further away from the face and the stereo headphone jack. These remain the same and haven't received any major changes from over the first device.
New features include a lens adjustment dial, slimmer design with a slight weight reduction, built-in motor for the headset feedback and a small cosmetic detail - thousands of tiny PlayStation symbols that can also be found on PlayStation 5 console and DualSense controller.
Sony promise to take a giant leap forward in the VR genre with the PSVR 2 device which is expected to launch later this year. The publisher already announced their first next-gen VR title Horizon Call of the Mountain.
