Niantic have announced the dates for Pokemon GO Fest 2020. The festival will officially kick off on July 25 2020, and for the first time ever it will be held in a virtual format.

Pokemon Fest is the biggest Pokemon GO worldwide event which brought together over 600,000 trainers last year. Events were held in Chicago, Dortmund and Yokohama where players had the opportunity to hang out together and take part in various activities.

Those who enjoyed the festival will be happy to hear that Pokemon GO Fest is making a return in Summer 2020 but with a major change. This time, the festival will be held in a virtual format, starting on July 25 2020. The Fest 2020 will be a two-day experience and Trainers will be able to play on both days for the first time ever. Niantic confirmed that they are taking steps to make tickets available to as many Trainers as possible.

This year's Pokemon GO Fest is designed for the ground up to connect Trainers like never before, Niantic say. The developer have new surprises in store but sadly, did not confirm how they plan to connect and team up players during the festival.

"It will be an exciting weekend for the entire family, with new experiences, gameplay, and surprises throughout the event," they teased.

At the moment, the info is pretty scarce, but more details will be released in the upcoming weeks.
