CI Games have announced that the PlayStation 5 version of their upcoming title Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 will be delayed due to unforeseen technical issues. The game is still on schedule to release on other platforms.
"It is with regret that we must today announce the delay of the PlayStation 5 version of Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2," CI Games shared the news via Twitter. The developers state that they had to delay the PlayStation 5 version of the game due to some unexpected technical issues which appeared during the development. "This [delay] is the result of unforeseen technical issues that we've only very recently discovered."
Luckily, this issue is exclusive to PlayStation 5, meaning that the game is still scheduled to release as planned on all other platforms including PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC. "This will not affect the launch date of the other announced platforms - the game is still set to release as planned on June 4, 2021," CI Games explained.
They also added that these platforms do not suffer from the same issue as the PS5 version.
Last but not least, CI Games decided to release the first planned DLC for free, as a gesture of goodwill in the light of this news about the delay. The developer states that this DLC features a new and extensive region with fresh contracts. It will be completely free of charge for players on all platforms, not just PS5.
