Sony Interactive Entertainment announced their sales numbers for PlayStation 4. SIE also stated that PSN’s December 2019 monthly active users number has reached 103 million. PlayStation VR has also reached its 5 million units sold milestone.
Sony's CES 2020 press conference has brought many things, including the new PlayStation 5 logo as well as some interesting numbers for the current console.
Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that a total of 106 million PlayStation 4 console units has been sold as of 6 January 2020. For comparison, PlayStation 3 has moved around 80 million units.
The impressive number was calculated on a global scale and based on SIE research. The Europe figures are from 29 November 2013 to 31 December 2019.
SIE also stated that PlayStation Network’s December 2019 monthly active users have reached 103 million, according to estimations also based on SIE research. Moreover, the cumulative sales of PS4 software titles from retailers and the PlayStation Store have reached 1.15 billion as of 31 December 2019.
The Europe figures are from 29 November 2013 to 31 December 2019 and they do not include add-on contents.

Ryan went on to thank everyone and pointed out that PlayStation VR has reached its 5 million units sold milestone. The PSVR numbers were calculated based on SIE research from 13 October 2016 to 31 December 2019.
Sony Interactive Entertainment's future still holds highly anticipated (and super secretive) titles such as The Last of Us Part II and Ghost of Tsushima as the PS4 system enters its 7th year.
