Fans of Mass Effect series all around the world were hoping to see confirmation of the Legendary Edition but BioWare did one better. They revealed the release window for it and announced a brand new game.
BioWare officially announced Mass Effect Legendary Edition which was probably the worst kept secret in recent gaming history. However, the devs did manage to make the announcement pack a surprise or two since we got more info than we thought we would.
First of all, the Legendary Edition is coming during Spring 2021 so we are still a few months away. It will contain the original Mass Effect trilogy along with all the DLC and promo items such as weapons, armour and packs.
Furthermore, the trilogy will be remastered and optimised for 4K resolution. The bundle will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Interestingly enough, there is no mention of the original Mass Effect's remake and it will just get upgraded graphics with the old gameplay and tone. According to BioWare's blog post, their goal wasn't to remake and reimagine the old experiences but rather bring them up to modern standard.
They also announced a brand new Mass Effect game which is still in early development so there will not be much information for the time being. This also means we don't know whether it will be set in Milky Way or Andromeda galaxy.
More information will come for this project later on as well but it's safe to say this N7 Day celebration was worth the hype.
