Capcom will be hosting Monster Hunter World USA Championship on 28 July 2018. The competition will feature teams of two in time attack discipline, hunting for Pukei Pukei and Nergigante. Applications will be open until 26 July 2018.
Potential competitors might be wondering why Pukei Pukei is on the hunting list, but the monster will serve as a warm-up as well as a qualifier round. All participants will face it in arena quest and only top eight teams will qualify for the next round, which will be Nergigante Slay Event 4 challenge. Each challenge will have a limited pool of available weapons.
All participants will receive a USA Championship Exhibition t-shirt and a goodie bag. Contents of the bag are not revealed yet but Capcom have stated they will be in the near future. Meanwhile, all attendants will receive a Monster Hunter World lanyard.
The grand prize will be a limited edition Monster Hunter World themed watch for both members of the winning team, as well as a chance to represent USA at the Exhibition Invitational in Japan that is scheduled for autumn 2018.
Potential participants should be aware that participation fee will be $20, and participation will be available only for the US citizens who are 18 or older. In order to register for the tournament, participants will need to have a valid ID with a photograph on it and the winning team will need to have a proof of valid travel documents in order to be eligible for the main event in Japan.
