You've got to give it to Microsoft - the company has reinvented itself several times yet its leadership has rarely garnered the type of acclaim Apple's leadership regularly enjoyed. I'm a Mac. Well, I'm PC plus Xbox so walk away kid.
Microsoft's CEO Satya Nadella has recently attended a Morgan Stanley Technology conference, where of the importance the Xbox platform has played for them. Nadella highlighted their Xbox Live service as well, especially the part with subscription services, which he deems a "huge opportunity".
Nadella stressed that even though gaming and video platforms are incredibly important, it's the ability to do it anywhere and on any device that the company focuses on. He reminded the public that it comes from being in the business for a few decades already and being capable of servicing a "broader marketplace than ever before".

In Xbox and PC, Microsoft owns incredibly important components of the gaming market, and Nadella knows it. In fact, he made sure everyone knows it by saying how people don't realise "we are owners of both of those", although we do believe it was meant to be funny.
Okay, you know those jokes that initially sound like jokes, but when you think a bit harder, they stop being funny and turn ominous? Yeah, those.
Nevertheless, we can't forget the rocky road Microsoft has had, having been started with pocket money in a garage. I for one am grateful for their persistence on functional side of the IT spectrum, as opposed to the elitist, new-phone-doesn't-fit-old-charger approach.
The company that brought us the blue screen of death, Windows 95, XP, 7, 10, Xbox and the firm fan favourite - Clippit, has really been in the zone for a while now and long it may continue.
