DragonX squad is undergoing some shuffle as the team's mid lane trainee, Quad, is going to be a starter for the 2020 LCK Spring Split. Considering he is replacing Doran on the starting roster, this could mean some interesting role swaps are on the table.
DragonX is looking like one of the top contenders for LCK Spring Split 2020 so far, despite the season not having officially started yet. Besides featuring one of the best marksmen in professional League of Legends history, the team was reinforced by former Griffin coach cvMax, mid laner Chovy and top laner Doran.
However, Doran will apparently not be a starter for the LCK 2020 Spring Split as the team will be promoting their trainee, Song "Quad" Su-hyeong, to a starting position, who will reportedly take Doran's place .
Quad is a mid laner though and the official announcement does not clarify if he will stay as a starter for the entire split or just remain as such temporarily. Considering Doran was suspended for one game due to solo queue behaviour, it is possible Quad will sub in until the top laner's return.
However, if Quad were to remain a starter, this would not be the first bit of role flexing to make the headlines lately as G2's Perkz and Caps have swapped between mid and bot lane as well.
On top of that, Chovy has an affinity to playing tanks which could potentially mean he would go top but this is all speculation for the time being.
DragonX finished in top four in the first Korean competition this year, the KeSPA Cup. They were knocked out by the eventual winners, Afreeca Freecs, while not dropping a single match beforehand. Considering the team is fairly new with barely any pre-built cohesion, it's not a bad start and it remains to be seen whether they stick with Doran in the future.
