Fortnite Chapter 2 Remix is almost over. Epic Games has announced their plans for the next season, including the theme of the maps, items, and battle pass. With the new Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1, Epic Games is introducing a new original themed season with special appearances from Godzilla and Baymax.
Just before the update drops and after the end of Remix: The Finale Live Event for Chapter 2 Remix, Epic Games has announced that the game will go through a scheduled downtime. Here's a look at the downtime schedule for Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1.
Fortnite: Chapter 6 Season 1 Downtime
Fortnite Chapter 2 Remix will end on December 1, 2024, around 11 AM ET. The downtime countdown has already begun in-game near the Doggpound POI of the current map. While Epic Games has announced that the Fortnite downtime will last for 4 hours until the release of Chapter 6 Season 1, the Chapter 2 Remix downtime lasted for more than 10 hours.
The downtime extension is necessary to ensure that the game will not face any bugs, errors, or unexpected crashes. Moreover, the downtime is crucial for ensuring the map transitions occur smoothly, which includes the placement of the new POIs.
The new season will introduce all new Japanese-themed characters, items, and map changes, moving away from Chapter 2 Remix's rapper and OG Chapter 2 theme. The theme of Chapter 6 Season 1 was confirmed with the recent Epic Games posts on their official Twitter account. More Japanese, Nike, and Disney-themed content will arrive in the game throughout the entirety of the season.
Aside from the downtime, the new Chapter 6 Season 1 will also introduce changes and new content to LEGO Fortnite, Fortnite Rocket Racing, and Battle Royale game modes.
