EA have launched the Title Update #5 for FIFA 21, introducing changes to just about every mode and aspect of the game, most notably defending strategies and their stamina costs.

Note that the update will be available on PC (Origin/Steam) soon, whereas PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players will have to wait a bit more.

When it comes to general gameplay, FIFA 21 players can expect the following changes:

  • Increased the distance that a ball can travel after making contact with the foot or leg of the defender during a blocking animation
  • Decreased the amount of time the Team Press D-Pad Tactic can be active for, before requiring cooldown, from 30 seconds to 20 seconds
  • Further details about this change will be provided in an upcoming Pitch Notes article.    Increased the impact of the Overload Ball Side D-Pad Tactic on in-game Stamina
  • Further details about this change will be provided in an upcoming Pitch Notes article
  • Increased the impact of the Constant Pressure, Pressure On Heavy Touch, and Pressure On Possession Loss Tactics on in-game Stamina
  • Further details about this change will be provided in an upcoming Pitch Notes article

Shooting requests will be performed more timely, and the situations where goalkeepers are knocked into the goal will now be treated as fouls, rather than goals. Goalkeeper throws to defenders close to the goal will now not result in own goals.

EA made a number of changes to goalie and player animations, all of which are aimed to produce a smoother FIFA 21 experience, and prevent jerky visuals.

FIFA 21 players in Match Lobbies will get a more accurate overview of Ping Bars, which should help in choosing the best matches available.

There has been a number of (mostly visual) changes to FIFA Ultimate Team, Career Mode and Volta Football, which you can check out in the full patch notes here .
