Epic Games Store's relentless freebie train continues and on this week's menu we have InnerSpace, an exploration flying game by PolyKnight Games and Aspyr Digital, which delivers a thoroughly lovely visual experience with audio to match.
Sweeney and Co continue to mix it up, and after last week's Assassin's Creed: Syndicate and Faeria, they're following it up with a slightly different sort of treat.
We're talking about a game from 2018 that is certain to provide some delicious visuals. Comparing games never tells the whole story but if we had to do it, we'd probably be likening the experience to that of Abzu or Flower.
While it certainly gives off some No Man's Sky, be aware that it is a significantly less ambitious project. Not that there's anything wrong with that, especially since they're very differently aimed experiences, in spite of the occasional visual likeness.
"In the final days of the Inverse, you must help the Archaeologist recover the last remaining memories before they are lost forever. Fly through ancient skies and abandoned oceans to discover the lost history of this fading realm, where entire civilizations have died, yet their gods still wander", the description reads.
Apart from the delightful audio-visual experience, InnerSpace has than 25 unique relics, which extend the gameplay and let you piece together the story behind the universe it's set in.
Having played earlier, we can personally vouch that's it's a great game to zone out for a few hours. Moreover, the story tickles the imagination and we wouldn't be surprised if the dev followed it up one day with a more ambitious sequel.
InnerSpace is free on the Epic Games Store from now to 5 March 2020, after which Epic is doubling up once more with GoNNer and Offworld Trading Company.
