Square Enix Collective picked up the publishing rights to Deadbeat Heroes back in March. The game has an official release date set for 10 October. Deadbeat Heroes is said to give new life to "the best tropes from classic '90s beat-em-ups in a '60s superhero parody".
Remember Monday? Then, I told you about all the games will be bringing along for the ride to this year's EGX. One of the games on that list was Deadbeat Heroes by Deadbeat Productions. The game is said to give new life to "the best tropes from classic '90s beat-em-ups in a '60s superhero parody". Think Adam West's Batman.
Well today, the Heroes have received an official release date, and it's sooner than you think. Or you're just hearing about the game now and you have no idea what to expect. Deadbeat Heroes will be hitting PC and Xbox One on 10 October, 2017, there.

"Deadbeat Heroes is an ode to 3D fighters everywhere," offered Langridge, Director at Deadbeat Productions.
Deadbeat Heroes will launch with 40 levels, and each one will have a number of enemies who can be "tamed with movement based attacks and 9 over-the-top superpowers" says the press release. All you "block button happy people", get ready to gasp in disbelief. The block attacks have been intentionally removed. *gasp* In turn, the style of combat encourages swift reactions.
"We’ve been heavily influenced by the kind of arcade beat-em-ups we both spent way too much money on in our youth, as well as the comic book aesthetic that was at its peak in the 1960s and 1970s," added Art Director Imkan Hayati.

Square Enix Collective picked up the publishing rights back in March, with Phil Elliott - Director of Community & Indie Development at Square Enix London - claiming the game "typifies triple-A talent being let off the leash".
"We’ve been excited about bringing Deadbeat Heroes to market ever since it first caught our attention," said Elliott.
Deadbeat Heroes will launch at 17:00 BST on Tuesday, 10 October, 2017.
