Pearl Abyss' gorgeous open-world action-adventure Crimson Desert has been delayed indefinitely. The game was previously scheduled to launch later this year.
Crimson Desert was one of those games that I was secretly excited about. Developer Pearl Abyss already showed us they know how to make unique and stunning games with Black Desert, which is one of the reasons I was looking forward to playing Crimson Desert.
However, deep down, I always had a feeling that Crimson Desert is getting delayed since its release date was always unrealistic. Winter 2021 is coming in just several months and we have not seen enough of the game to give us the confidence that the devs will be able to wrap up the development before the set release window.
Today, my fears came true. Pearl Abyss confirmed they are delaying Crimson Desert indefinitely , which means the game no longer has a release date.
Here's the announcement:
"We have decided that we need to dedicate more time to adding new ideas for an even deeper, more enriching game. Therefore, in order to create the best possible experience, all the while ensuring the health and safety of everyone involved in delivering the game, we have decided to delay Crimson Desert's release.
We will provide an updated schedule in the future."
Crimson Desert is planned to release on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.
