Infinity Ward have officially revealed their plans for rank reset in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare season one. Officer ranks (56-155) will be reset on 03 December and all weapon blueprints will become unusable.
Earlier this week, Infinity Ward announced Season 1 roadmap for their shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. During the first season, Modern Warfare will introduce a huge amount of content which includes new maps such as the iconic Crash, new weapons, Ground War maps and new game modes.
The first season is scheduled to start on Tuesday, 03 December 2019 and the content will be introduced slowly during the season.
The devs also revealed their plans for rank reset, that will happen on 03 December. According to Infinity Ward, for those who play the multiplayer part of Modern Warfare, and have officer ranks (ranks from 56 to 155) the rank reset will take place and players will have to earn those ranks again. As expected, this will happen again once the first season ends and the next one arrives.
Everything that players earned until now, including ribbons and weapon blueprints will be "memorialised", which means that Call of Duty players will be able to see it but they won't be able to use it anymore.
For players below officer ranks, which are named Enlisted Ranks (1-55), the reset will not happen and any rank and items earned in Enlisted will carry over from season to season. Players will continue to progress through the remaining Enlisted Ranks, before entering the Season 1 Officer Rank Progression.
To help players gain XP and reach 155 officer rank, Infinity Ward have switched on Double XP until the first season officially arrives on 03 December 2019.
