Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) and Warzone 1 opened up the way for countless collaborations with other pop culture and gaming franchises.
Activision has since then collaborated with the likes of Evil Dead, Dune, Warhammer, Fallout and more. Moreover, this also culminated to the addition of celebrities like Snoop Dogg, Messi, Neymar, 21 Savage, Nicki Minaj and various other icons.
Now following that trend, there has been speculation about Call of Duty's next collaboration being a crossover with Marvel's Deadpool and Wolverine.
Call of Duty x Marvel's Deadpool and Wolverine might be on the way
According a data mining leak from Crashfty, the next big Call of Duty collaboration might be Marvel's Deadpool and Wolverine. With the Season 4 Reloaded update there were preview animations of a finisher mimicking Deadpool's moveset.
The Deadpool and Wolverine collaboration might become Activision and Marvel's first official crossover event. The previews in the game file demonstrated three finishers which are on brand with Marvel's Deadpool.
The first finisher shows the operator doing a dodge roll and hitting a "Made you look" pose. In the second finisher animation, the operator can be seen doing the same move on a downed operator, shooting them after a dodge roll.
However, the Deadpool speculations come from the third finisher animation, where the operator can been lying down besides a downed operator before finishing them off, which is a signature move from Deadpool's moveset.
While the collaboration has not been confirmed by anyone related to Call of Duty, we can expect it come to life with the release of Marvel's Deadpool and Wolverine on July 26 which is just two days after the release of Call of Duty: Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 3 Season 5. We can expect official announcements to roll out a few days before the seasonal update's release.
