Okay, allow yourself to panic, since that seems to be everyone's first reaction. Video games on your car's panel? You mad bro? However, you'll only be able to play them when your car is parked and Elon Musk announces more to come.

The news was announced by Elon Musk himself via a tweet, saying that "Some of the best classic Atari games coming as Easter eggs in Tesla V9.0 release in about 4 weeks. Thanks Atari!".

In subsequent tweets, the man confirmed we'll be seeing Pole Position, Tempest and Missile Command, with many more to come at a later date. Interestingly though, he wants to use the actual steering wheel for controls.

Naturally, this sort of a controller requires your car to be parked and we're likely to hear more details about how exactly it will work. After all, incessant turning of the wheel while stationary neither seems like an efficient means of control, nor is it particularly healthy for you car, so users are already taking guesses.

Some suggested Tesla will use simple wheel pressure mode, where just a bit of pressure would be enough to turn your Pole Position beast left or right. That does indeed make sense and seems like the most logical solution for controls, short of handing you a specialised Tesla joystick.

As you can see from , many users went straight up bonkers, since Pole Position was, and still is, quite the gem, beloved by many an old sod of a gamer. The game was developed in the late 80s by Namco, before they went the way of Bandai.

It was designed by Toru Iwatani, the same man who made PacMan and ended up being featured on all the top notch gaming equipment of the time such as, Atari 2600 and 5200, Commodore 64 and 128, ZX Spectrum and more.

Of course, the update Musk is talking about is much bigger than just adding games, but we don't care about cars here - we care about Pole Position. Besides, maybe this helps Atari with some cash, so they cease with their sleazy money grabbing endeavour that is .
