Star Wars Battlefront 2's 10 hour trial period is now live. The game's official currency you can buy for real money are Crystals that can be bought in bundles. The bundles will cost you anywhere between £3.99 and £79.99.
Everyone has already surrendered to the new Star Wars Battlefront 2 and its loot crate situation, I believe. Good good. Now let's talk about it some more. You know, force choke the cow.
The 10-hour Star Wars Battlefront 2 trial is now live (via EA Access) on Xbox One and (via ) on PC*. This "early access" thing is what you see is what you get type of a deal, with the exception of the singleplayer content. Only three levels of singleplayer are open for business at the moment.
Star Wars Battlefront 2's official currency you can buy for real-world cash are "Crystals", and they can be bought in bundles. Those bundles will cost you anywhere between £3.99 and £79.99, but let's go through each of them separately. You get:
- 500 Crystals for £3.99
- 1000 for £7.99
- 2100 for £15.99
- 4400 for £31.99
- 120,000 for £79.99
There are three types of loot crates, and those can vary in price: Trooper, Starfighter and Hero. Each crate will yield one or two Star Cards related to the theme of the crate itself, in-game currency or some crafting parts plus one other item.
Trooper crates will set you back some 200 Crystals (or 4000 credits), next up are the Starfighter crates at 120 Crystals (2400 credits) and Hero crates at (110 Crystals and 2200 credits).
We know that . The final tier of Star Card (the purple/four-point tier) can now only be crafted. After your account sacrifices a virgin chicken, at nightfall, on 30 February. Kidding. Bet you feel a lot better now. So, the final tier Star Cards can only be crafted if your account has reached the appropriate level through play.
To craft a green-tier card you'll need to be at least level 10, for a blue one you're going to need level 15, and for purple - level 20.
Crafting costs are as follows: a grey Star Card, 40 crafting parts; green, 80 crafting parts; blue, 120 crafting parts; wow, you're still reading this; and for purple, you'll need around 400 crafting parts.
