Embark Studios' ARC Raiders is a free-to-play game from former Battlefield developers. If the game looks like your cup of tea, here's everything you need to know about this looter shooter.

ARC Raiders is a brand new third-person shooter from Embark Studios , where players and their squad take on ARC, a mechanical race that is descending to earth from space. The game will be free-to-play and promises a strong focus on co-op play as you battle these giant machines.

If that's something that interests you, here's are all the details about this exciting new shooter from former Battlefield devs.

When is the ARC Raiders release date?

Update: ARC Raiders is no longer on track to release in 2022. The team have confirmed that Arc Raiders is now scheduled to launch sometime in 2023 since they need more time to expand the game and make it a proper banger.

Embark Studios announced that ARC Raiders will be coming sometime in 2022. The devs did not specify the release date so we assume that the game will probably be launching later in 2022. Perhaps during the Holiday season. This is just speculation at this point, though.

  ARC Raiders - confirmed platforms

Arc Raiders will be launching on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S consoles and Geforce Now streaming platform. On PC, Arc Raiders will be available via Steam and Epic Games Store.

  Weapons, characters and enemy types

Embark Studios only detailed two Raiders so far - Celeste and Lance.

Celeste details

Uprooted and abandoned, Celeste lost everything to ARC. Yet, she picked herself up, built a new home, and forged a new family of diverse and skilful resistance fighters – that’s us, the Raiders. Celeste knows she can count on us every time enemies drop from orbit. It's just too bad that we can't count on her when it's her turn to restock inventories.

Lance details

Once you’ve watched Lance craft a better weapon from the scraps of a defeated Rollerbot, there is no doubt he’s one of us. As a resistance fighter, he has the same target on his back as any of the other Raiders defending our home from ARC. He can't hide the fact that he's a droid, and we have to give him credit for trying to fit in, even though his efforts often land him in strange territory. His boxing matches with Ben Welder? Not so great! But, his fashion show? EPIC! At least that's how some of us remember it.

Enemy types and Weapons

One of the weapons in the game. The official description implies that players need to work together in order to make this one fire its deadly ammo.

This vicious ball of pain has nothing in mind other than chasing Raiders to death. Defeating these will reward players with crafting materials that can be used for crafting better weapons. Rollerbots are known to travel in packs.

Snap Hook

Works as your standard grappling hook. You can use the snap hook to latch on to it, or latch on to a smaller bot and see who wins the tug-of-war. Snap hooks are also a bit of a fashion craze right now, at least according to Lance.
