Analyst Michael Pachter recently gave an interview where he discussed Sony's recent successes with PlayStation 4 exclusives. He said that even though Detroit: Become Human has a more limited appeal, the game should still do more than well.

The question is a logical one once you consider that Horizon: Zero Dawn has had one heck of a year, copies by March 2018. There aren't any definitive God of War figures as of yet but if the media exposure is anything to go by, it should do even better.

Pachter thinks that although Detroit: Become Human is a great game in its own right, it won't quite reach these heights due to its niche appeal. Indeed David Cage's games have a specific and thus more limited playerbase, even if it is fanatically devoted.

"I think Quantic Dream makes very dark, very thoughtful stories, but if you want escapism, their games won't be the best ones to play", he said. We'd have to agree here - Cage tends to insist on quite intricate storylines that are more likely to get you thinking than help you switch off.

Pachter Detroit: Become Human's insistence on delivering a purely single player experience, which he thinks is yet another factor that prevents stellar sales.

To be fair though, neither God of War nor Horizon: Zero Dawn feature any sort of multiplayer but it is clear that hard core fans of Cage and the two aforementioned games don't really find themselves on the same side of the proverbial fence very often.

Detroit: Become Human is expected to launch on Sony's console on 25 May 2018, even though there was no shortage of controversy around it. You may recall all sorts of justice warriors attacking the game for supposedly , but they seem to have eased off in the meantime.

The game to be running at smooth 30fps on both PlayStation 4 and its big brother PlayStation 4 Pro, with the sole difference being the resolution.
