Amazon Games have officially announced that their upcoming MMORPG New World will not launch this August. Instead, the game is pushed to Spring 2021 to work on more middle and endgame experiences among other things.
Shortly after un-releasing their hero shooter Crucible, Amazon have now once again delayed their next game - New World MMORPG. This will come as a huge disappointment to many players who were eagerly awaiting the August release.
The devs confirmed that they are now aiming for Spring 2021 release date, which is a significant delay, suggesting potential development problems.
"We want our players to feel completely immersed in the game, and know that our studio stands for quality and lasting gameplay you can trust — and that means added time to get things where we want them before we fully release," Rich Lawrence, Studio Director wrote in the blog post.
The developers say that after all the feedback they have received from players during Alpha, players like the game and would love to see even more of it. To ensure that players get the best possible experience, the team will work on more middle and endgame experiences until launch.
As a thank you to the New World community, the devs will be providing a special opportunity for the Beta sign-up and pre-order customers to play the full game of New World - in its current state, for a limited period of time starting on August 25, 2020. An email invitation will be sent directly to those players detailing the process to participate.
