According to the rumours, players will be able to play as Crash, Coco and Cortex. The gameplay is similar to previous Crash Bandicoot games with masks and special abilities.
After releasing Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy and Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled remasters, Activision are currently developing another Crash Bandicoot game, but this time, it won't be a remaster. The new game will be a brand new story and today, we have first details about the gameplay and the world, thanks to Twitter users Sabi and ViewerAnon.
Apparently, the new game is similar to classic Crash Bandicoot games. It revolves around masks with special abilities with Naughty Dog-like gameplay. Those who have hoped that the game would feature an open world will be disappointed to hear that this won't be the case.
Instead, it will feature the progression system and worlds like Super Mario Bros. 3/World with individual levels in each world. Twitter user ViewerAnon claims that players will be able to play as Coco, Cortex and obviously Crash. Both ViewerAnon and Sabi made it clear that the game is a brand new story and not a remake.
Of course, just like any other rumour, leak or unconfirmed info, take this one with a big grain of salt. That being said, Sabi had some pretty accurate leaks before so it's possible that this one is also legit.
Also, considering that both Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy and Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled remasters were pretty successful, the news about the new game isn't exactly surprising. Activation even teased the new game recently, saying that they have plans to bring more fresh content to the popular franchise.
