Pokemon GO's Season 9 is kicking off next week on August 30. There are some changes coming to Season 9, along with some important updates and bonuses.

Pokemon GO is gearing up to kick off GO Battle League Season 9. There are some mysterious changes coming at the end of this season and all we know so far is that your ranking will be more important than ever. More, or really any, information about the upcoming changes will be revealed at a later date, just know: they are coming.

Pokemon GO Season 9 start date, rank resets

GO Battle League Season 9 will start on Monday, August 30, 2021, at 20:00 GMT.

Updates coming at the start of the new season

  • End of season rewards will be available on the battle screen.
  • GO Battle League rank reset for all Trainers.
  • Rank-up requirements will stay the same.

All leagues listed below will start and end at 20:00 GMT on the following dates:

  • August 30 - September 13 
    • Great League
    • Great League Remix
  • September 13 - September 27
    • Ultra League

  • September 27 - October 11

    • Little Jungle Cup*
    • * 3× Stardust from win rewards (this does not include end of set rewards)
  • October 11 - October 25
    • Great League
    • Halloween Cup (begins October 15)
    • October 25 - November 8
    • Ultra League
    • UL Premier Classic
    • Halloween Cup (ends November 2)
  • November 8 - November 22
    • Master League*

What's new in Pokemon GO Season 9

Switching from nights to days: GO Battle Nights will take a back seat and let Go Battle Days shine. This change will persist through all future seasons.

New in Season 9: Bonuses

Trainers will now be able to take part in 20 sets per day (up from five), for a total of 100 battles. 

Players will get 4x Stardust as win rewards. These will not include end of set rewards and won't stack with the 3× Stardust bonus on November 20.

Pokemon GO Season 9: dates and times
  • Saturday, September 18, 2021, from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. local time
    • The Ultra League and Ultra League Remix will be active.
  • Monday, November 1, 2021, from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. local time
    • The Ultra League, the UL Premier Classic, and the Halloween Cup will be active.
  • Saturday, November 20, 2021, from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. local time
    • The Master League, ML Premier Classic, and a cup chosen by Trainers will be active.
