Pokemon GO - GO Battle Season 9

Pokemon GO's Season 10 starts today, November 29. The jam-packed event will even see some of its top players at the Pokemon GO Championship Series events.

Pokemon GO's Battle League Season 10 is all queued up and ready to go. A quick refresher: Trainers who reach Legend rand this season will be eligible to register for certain Pokemon GO Championship Series events . Additional details will be available very soon.

Pokemon GO Season 10 start date

GO Battle League Season 10 will start today, November 29, 2021, at 21:00 GMT (1:00 p.m. PST) and the following will take place:

  • End-of-season rewards will be waiting for Trainers on the battle screen.
  • GO Battle league ranks will be reset.
  • Rank-up requirements will be the same as in Season 9.
  • Pokemon appearing in  GO Battle League encounters will be easier to catch.

All leagues will kick off and end at 21:00 GMT (1:00 p.m. PST) on the following dates:

Bonuses

  • The number of sets you can play per day will be increased to a maximum of 20, bringing the total up to 100 battles per day.
  • 4× Stardust from win rewards. The bonus doesn't include the end of set rewards and won't stack with the 3× Stardust bonus that will be available on January 8.

Saturday, January 8, 2022, from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. local time:

  • The Master League and the Master League Classic.

Sunday, January 23, 2022, from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. local time:

  • The Great League and the Sinnoh Cup.

Sunday, February 6, 2022, from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. local time:

  • The Ultra League and the UL Premier Classic.

Guaranteed rank-up encounters

You can meet the following Pokemon once per season if you have reached the assigned rank. Rank one Trainers are guaranteed to encounter one of the Pokemon that the leader of Team Flare, Lysandre, is known to use 

  • Rank 1 - Pyroar
  • Rank 6 - Mienfoo
  • Veteran Icon - Noibat
  • Expert Rank - Deino*
  • Legend - Pikachu Libre*

*If you’re lucky, you may find a Shiny one.

Standard Encounters

You can encounter the following Pokemon in reward encounters throughout the season at the designated ranks. Pokemon appearing in GO Battle League encounters will be slightly easier to catch.

  • Azumarill

Rank 6:

  • Mienfoo

Rank 11:

  • Five-star Raid Boss -  The Pokemon currently appearing in five-star raids has a chance of appearing as a reward encounter after you reach rank 20.

Pokemon GO Season 10 - Avatar items and other rewards

Pikachu Libre avatar items will be waiting for Trainers who reach Rank 3. Everyone is able to earn avatar items and a pose inspired by the leader of Team Flare, Lysandre:

  • Ace rank: Lysandre-Style Gloves
  • Veteran rank: Lysandre-Style Shoes
  • Expert rank: Lysandre-Style Pants
  • Legend rank: Lysandre-Style Jacket and Lysandre Pose

Trainers who reach rank 19 will get an Elite Charged TM, an Elite Fast TM as an end-of-season reward.

Great League Remix

The top 20 Pokemon most used by Trainers ranked Ace and upward in the Great League will not be allowed in the Great League Remix. Those include:

Holiday Cup
  • Pokemon must be at or below 1,500 CP to enter.
  • Only Normal-, Grass-, Electric-, Ice-, Flying-, and Ghost-type Pokémon are permitted.
Sinnoh Cup
  • Pokemon must be at or below 1,500 CP to enter.
  • Only Pokemon with a Pokedex number from #387 to #493 will be allowed.
Love cup
  • Pokemon must be at or below 1,500 CP to enter.
  • Only red or pink Pokemon are allowed.
Johto Cup
  • Pokemon must be at or below 1500 CP to enter.
  • Only Pokemon with a Pokedex number from #152 to #251 will be allowed.

Pokemon GO Attack changes for Season 10

Rock Tomb

Rock Tomb now has an additional effect when it’s used in Trainer Battles. It is now guaranteed to lower the opposing Pokemon’s Attack. 

Pound

Trainer Battles: 5 -> 4 damage

Bug Buzz

Bug Buzz will gain a slight increase in damage to boost Wormadam’s, Vespiquen’s, and Yanmega’s Bug-type Charged Attack options.

Trainer Battles: 90 -> 100 damage

Gyms and raids: 90 -> 100 damage

Attack availability updates
  • Donphan - now able to learn the Charged Attack Body Slam.
  • Noctowl - can now learn the Charged Attack Shadow Ball.
  • Magcargo - able to learn the Fast Attack Incinerate and the Charged Attack Rock Tomb.
  • Octillery - Fast Attack Lock-On will be added to Octillery's repertoire.
  • Sudowoodo -  able to learn the Charged Attack Rock Tomb. 
  • Lairon - will now be able to learn the Charged Attack Rock Tomb.
  • Aggron - will learn the Charged Attack Rock Tomb.
  • Claydol - will be able to learn the Charged Attack Rock Tomb.
