Mass Effect Legendary Edition brought many improvements to the original game but more intuitive controls on the Noveria puzzle were not among them.
VI Core puzzle on Noveria in Mass Effect is a decent brain teaser but its actual difficulty isn't in the complexity of the puzzle - it's in the silly controls that are counter-intuitive. Anyway, here are solutions to both problems.
Noveria VI Core puzzle controls
One would think that you would get to pick the blocks you want to move from one core to the other by clicking or choosing them with a dedicated interact button while movement keys would only be used to move the blocks left or right. Instead, the controls are as follows:
- Left is for Core 1
- Up is for Core 2
- Right is for Core 3
In order to move a block from one core to the other, you would need to press their keys in the right order. For example, if you want to move a block from Core 1 to Core 3, the correct input would be Left then Right.
Noveria VI Core puzzle solution
In order to solve the puzzle, you will need to move all the elements of Core 1 to either Core 2 or 3. There are three rules that you have to obey if you are to move a block:
- It will always be the top block that is moved
- Bigger blue blocks can't be moved to a core with smaller blue blocks
You can try to solve it by yourself as it's not too hard when you're familiar with rules and controls but if you are looking for a cheat sheet of sorts, here is the full list of inputs that will get you through the puzzle:
