Sony greenlights Rocket League crossplay

Crossplay has been a hot topic in 2018, with Epic Games and Fortnite spearheading the initiative, but Psyonix and Rocket League were among the most vocal supporters of joining PS4, Xbox One and PC communities. Sony finally let it happen.

JANUARY 15

Rocket League RocketID postponed until 2019

Psyonix have been working on Rocket League cross-play for a while now and while it was supposed to go live in September 2018, it had been delayed. There was no ETA following the delay, but info suggests it will come at some point in 2019.

OCTOBER 19

Rocket League has over 33 million players

Psyonix's Rocket League has over 33 million players to celebrate its second anniversary with. The Anniversary Update scheduled to drop soon will bring a new arena along with new cars. Competitive Season 5 will start after the update.

SEPTEMBER 24

Switch is getting The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Nintendo have announced a long list of games that'll be coming to Switch during the next couple of months. A lot of ports, first and third party games ranging from Super Mario Odyssey to Doom will soon become available for Switch.

Rocket League reaches 50 million players

Psyonics took to Twitter recently to thank both their veteran players as well as the newcomers for helping the game reach 50 million players in total. The number represents players across all platforms and it surfaced days before Season 9.

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy first again

Another week, another top spot for Crash Bandicoot. This is mostly impressive because the game is a single platform release. There are some surprises this week as Battlefield 1 and Horizon Zero Dawn re-enter the UK retail top ten.

Rocket League gets Fate of the Furious DLC

Psyonix teamed up with Universal Pictures to bring us The Fate of the Furious themed DLC. The pack will feature the Ice Charger and six unique customisation options. The DLC will become available on 04 April 2017 for just under £2.

Rocket League preparing anniversary event

Just in case you've grown tired of Neymar diving deeper than the deepest depths of Destiny 2's paywalls, try to remember than cars can't dive. So, Rocket League is approaching its third birthday and Psyonix are ready to mark it in style.

Valve halts CS:GO, Dota 2 trading in Holland

The Dutch weren't kidding when they said they'll prosecute makers of games that contain loot boxes and Valve seems to be the first in line, resulting in the developer suspending CS:GO and Dota 2 marketplace trading until further notice.

JUNE 20

Rocket League for PC is free this weekend, Dropshot tryouts

Windows, Linux or macOS - you can play Rocket League for free this weekend, as long as you are playing it on a PC. If you manage to have some fun during the weekend, the game can also be acquired at a discount until the following Monday.

MAY 9

Rocket League announces partnership with WWE for 2018

Rocket League's developers partnered up with WWE for in-game crossovers as well as real life sponsorships. As a part of this partnership, Psyonix will be adding WWE items to the game. WrestleMania 34, will feature playable Rocket League.

FEBRUARY 27

Rocket League Tournaments Beta coming soon

Rocket League's Tournaments Beta is set to go live next week. The beta will only be available to players who have purchased their copy of the game via Steam. The Tournaments Beta version of the game will replace the Live version you already have installed.
