It appears that Rockstar's PR machine has started hitting the gas pedal early as Red Dead Redemption 2 posters already started appearing in New York. As usual, the gaming rumour mill churned out the possibility of a new trailer coming.
The Red Dead Redemption 2 posters were spotted by reddit user Jamesahaha and promptly captured for the reddit hordes to see. Note that this is most likely still the beginning of the massive PR/advertising onslaught that Rockstar is about to pull, seeing as how we've still a long way to go until 26 October 2018.
Rockstar's reluctance to show actual gameplay or anything past the usual hard-man cinematics has led many to believe that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be delayed again. In case you're not familiar with the whole saga around RDR, it was meant to launch in 2017 but Rockstar delayed the game on two occasions, settling on October 2018 as final.
Thankfully, the promotional campaign seems to have alleviated some of the concerns, as Rockstar is obviously red dead set on delivering RDR2 this time. Well, either that or they're just happy to throw money around, the likelihood of which I'll let you deduce.
At the same time, this would mean it's high time they delivered a gameplay trailer, prompting some to suggest we'll be seeing a new one this week. Considering Rockstar's tendency for mid-weekly releases, we could be talking about the next couple of days. If true, of course.
Moreover, ResetEra message board has a few pics of Red Dead Redemption 2 themed care packages, which the company started sending out to the most dedicated fans. This further suggests we'll be seeing something new soon and we're not talking about promotional posters either. After all, this is one of the games to watch out in 2018.
Some users already started drawing comparisons to GTA V, whose gameplay trailer came out 70 days before the game was released. This would theoretically put Red Dead Redemption 2's gameplay trailer in this timeframe but we guess we'll have to wait this one out.
