Subnautica: Below Zero has received its first major update since Unknown Worlds Entertainment started developing the expansion, adding Seatruck, a modular underwater utility vehicle, new friends and foes, new biomes and a bunch more.
Modular design means that Subnautica: Below Zero players are getting the ultimate in customisability - Seatrucks can be tweaked and adapted to as wide a range of uses as possible, all as easy as playing trains with its modules.
As the name Seatruck suggests though, the mac daddy of the bunch is the cabin, which is constructed in Mobile Vehicle Bays.
Same goes for the rest of the modules of course, but the cabin comes with propulsion and life support, so it's the first module you'll have to build.
Subnautica: Below Zero's new vehicle has launched with a set of four wagons - the Cabin, Storage, Fabricator and Aquarium modules, which are pretty self-explanatory.
Seatruck already looks fun and the prospect of Unknown Worlds launching more modules opens up some serious creative possibilities. Could this be Subnautica's vehicle to end all vehicles?
Subnautica: Below Zero has also received two new biomes that Unknown Worlds call Deep Twisty Bridges (picture below) and Thermal Spires.
The update brings new friends and foes alike, although calling Seamonkeys friends is a bit stretching it, since this "cheekiest aquatic critter on planet 4546B" will be looking to steal your stuff at every opportunity.
Note that a new apex predator called the Squidshark has made its home in Deep Twisty Bridges, just so you don't feel completely at ease roaming the new regions.
"Explore a richly detailed island, home to the Cargo Transfer Launchpad. Black sandy beaches, thermal pools, snow-dusted cliffs and intricate caves await you. At the peak, you will find a new Cargo Transfer Base along with attendant rocket launchpad", the dev concluded.

Unknown Worlds already said they're counting on fans to play a big role in shaping what Subnautica: Below Zero is to become, hence the Early Access status on Steam.
