EA's CEO Andrew Wilson shed some light on Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order which is currently being developed by one of Respawn Entertainment's teams. Wilson said that the first glimpses of the game will be shown in the upcoming months.

Respawn Entertainment are hitting the headlines in the last couple of days as they just released their battle royale Apex Legends which was received well by players, however, the studio is also currently working on two more games.

One of these games is Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order which was announced during last year's pre-E3 event EA Play. According to EA's CEO Andrew Wilson, it won't take long before we get a first glimpse at the game.

Speaking in EA's earnings call, Wilson said that EA are looking to reveal the game in the "next few months". This could mean that we're getting proper gameplay at this years' EA Play which is scheduled just before E3 2019 starts on 11 June 2019.

While Wilson didn't spend much time talking about Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, he did mention that the game “captures the fantasy of becoming a Jedi” and plays "spectacularly well", while EA's COO Blake Jorgensen also stated that he played the game for about 20 minutes and that it looked "exceptional" during his playthrough.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is scheduled to release sometime during the holiday period of 2019. Wilson confirmed this by saying that in addition to Apex Legends, another Respawn Entertainment team is currently working to deliver the next Star Wars game this autumn.

The development is led by Stig Asmussen, who is a former director of God of War series. This could suggest that we're looking at a strong story-driven experience. We already know that the game will be single-player action-adventure featuring an unnamed Jedi character during the events after Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.

By the looks of it, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is much like Visceral's cancelled Star Wars project. Some earlier reports suggested that EA ditched Amy Henning's linear gameplay idea for "a broader experience" which could mean that the game is now set in an open world.
