World of Warcraft players who want to enjoy the story at their own pace best turn back now, as the data-mined cinematic with Anduin and Sylvanas unleashes a World of Spoilers.
Okay, if you got this far it means World of Warcraft: Shadowlands spoilers are not on us, so let's dive in.
The cinematic takes place later in World of Warcraft: Shadowlands' timeline, and it's unclear when players will get to see it in-game.
WoWHead's analysis of data and quest uploads suggests that this is the Torghast questline cinematic that leads into the opening of Twisting Corridors. Which is unrelated to the reports of users who got there abusing glitches bugs, mind you.
As for the cinematic, it is set in the wake of Denathrius' defeat in Revendreth, as the Jailer contemplates his next move. And that move sets up a pretty great scene between Anduin and Sylvanas, where the latter is trying to recruit him by any means necessary.
Blizzard once again showed their knack for on-screen storytelling, as Anduin's stubbornness makes one wonder who is holding the weapon here. Sylvanas' decision stays unclear though, and the scene fades to black before we get to see what transpires.
Interestingly enough, WoWHead pointed out that Sylvanas' pose is a spitting image of Arthas' Frostmourne one, albeit in this case, it's Varian Wrynn's reforged Shalamayne.
Activision Blizzard recently revealed that World of Warcraft: Shadowlands is the fastest-selling PC game ever, having sold 3.7 million units on the first day. To make things even better, Blizzard are practically competing with themselves, because the previous record-holder was Diablo 3 from 2012, which sold 3.5 million copies on the first day.
