Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is the next title in the Call of Duty series. The game is not a direct sequel but rather a continuation of the Black Ops saga from Treyarch and other Call of Duty studios, as the story will officially jump to a future timeline.
Previously Treyarch had announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will officially feature the carry forward system. The carry forward system would have ported almost everything players use in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 to the new game. However, in a recent turn of events, Treyarch has abandoned all plans of carry forward for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.
Carry Forward System Won't Be Present in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7
In the reveal blog post for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Treyarch stated that a carry forward of weapons and items from Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be present in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.
However, after the community outcry over the inclusion of animated/goofy skins making Call of Duty titles worse, Treyarch has decided to abandon all plans of carry forward for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 XP Tokens and Zombies GobbleGums will not carry forward at the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Moreover, all Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 weapons, operators, and operator skins will not carry forward at the start of Season 1.
The carry forward situation might become confusing for some players, so let us water it down for you. The carry forward feature will not be available for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. However, it will remain available for Call of Duty: Warzone 2.
All Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 skins and weapons will co-exist with Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 items in Call of Duty: Warzone 2 only. However, all chest and ground loot will be based on weapons and items from Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 with high priority.
