According to reliable ResetEra member Okabe, who previously denied the Prince of Persia: Dark Babylon rumours, Ubisoft could announce a new Prince of Persia project in the next couple of weeks.
Prince of Persia rumours just won't go away in the last couple of months. First, we got a 4Chan leak suggesting that Ubisoft are working on Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remakes but that one was quickly shut down by a reliable insider Daniel Ahmad, who said that "There isn't a PoP trilogy remake."
However, another credible source, Shinobi602 also commented on these rumours. When asked whether the rumour is definitely fake, he responded "In some ways" suggesting that there might be a Prince of Persia game that is currently in the works at Ubisoft.
The latest hint comes from ResetEra member Okabe, a verified insider who previously shut down rumours about Dark Babylon title. When one forum member stated that Prince of Persia is a dead franchise, Okabe replied: "See you in a couple of weeks".
Now, this suggests that we may finally get an announcement but as always take the information with a grain of salt just like any other rumour or unconfirmed info. That being said, if the game is indeed in the works, Ubisoft probably planned to show it at E3 2020, which as you may know, is cancelled.
However, the Summer of Gaming festival or Xbox event in July 2020 could be a perfect opportunity to finally reveal the title. We'll have to wait and see whether that will be the case.
Thanks, Donato Andrea.
