Red Dead Online hasn't found as much success as GTA Online. While it was a tall order from the get-go, it's not exactly that the hyper popularity of the latter was the sole reason for the old-west shooter not being up to the challenge.
Players were often deprived of content and anything they would get would be another nudge towards the microtransaction lane. However, probably the biggest reason for RDO not being able to rank high on the popularity ladder is that the game didn't get much in the way of structured content ever since it released.
For example, we could play out the initial storyline after LeClerk springs us from the prison transport but it was obviously not finished and the story was abandoned for years. That is going to change on July 13, 2021, when Rockstar Games introduce more story missions and the widow is coming back to deal with the group that was responsible for her husband's death.
Before that happens, you can tune in to Rockstar's official channels o July 7, 2021, in order to check out the big news about the upcoming content from the devs themselves.
