PES 2022 is still a bit away but console players can now try it out, regardless of whether they are on PS4, PS5, Xbox One or Xbox Series X/S. Furthermore, consoles from the same family have crossplay enabled while Sony-Microsoft crossplay may or may not happen in the full release.
The demo is simply named "New Football Game Online Performance Test" on the stores so it's probably not going to pop up in regular PES-related searches.
Anyway, Konami didn't properly announce or advertise the demo for some reason and it simply went live as June 23 wrapped up and June 24 kicked off.
It is reportedly meant to just check the quality of online matchmaking and connection to the servers so the overall content is limited and gameplay mechanics, balancing and animations are still work in progress. Considering how drastic the passing changes were between PES 2020 demo and the final release, we would urge you to take that second part as a proper warning before judging what the final PES 2022 will be like.
Currently, there are just four teams to choose from - Barcelona, Juventus, Manchester United and Bayern Munich.
