Saibot Studios have released Hellbound on Steam, accompanied by all the gore and a celebratory launch discount that might come in handy.
Saibot Studios started Hellbound's crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter two years ago and didn't really waste time when it comes to developing and releasing the game. Before the actual title's launch, they also released Hellbound: Survival Mode which is available as a free download to this day.
As the name suggests, this is not a complete version of the game and instead showcases only a portion of it so now it can basically serve as a free demo. Meanwhile, the real thing released on August 4, 2020, along with the launch trailer which can be seen below.
The game will normally cost $14.99 / €12.49 but with the launch week discount, the price comes down to $11.99 / €9.99. Still, you might give the Survival Mode a shot first, it is a free preview after all.
Considering the price tag, it would be unfair to expect Doom Eternal size or any other AAA attributes. There are many positive reviews on Steam but there is also a considerable amount of those who didn't like the game, hence the previous suggestion to try the Survival Mode before committing.
You will not need a monstrous machine to run it though as Hellbound only requires outdated components like AMD FX-8320 CPU or Nvidia GTX 770 GB GPU to meet the recommended system specs.
