Another gameplay trailer of Arkane Studios' upcoming timed-exclusive for PlayStation 5 has been revealed last night and today, we also got some news about a release date for Xbox consoles. As you may know, Deathloop will launch on PlayStation 5 and PC simultaneously but won't be coming to Xbox anytime soon.
The exclusivity deal between Sony and Bethesda will run for a full year. This means that Deathlopp will release on Xbox One and Xbox Series X on May 21, 2022, or later.
This may come as a surprise to many since Microsoft acquired Bethesda and Zenimax but the American tech giant confirmed they will honour every deal that Bethesda made before the acquisition, which is certainly a respectable decision.
In case you are not familiar with Deathloop, the game is a next-gen first-person shooter from Arkane Lyon, the award-winning studio behind Dishonored. The game follows two rival assassins who are trapped in a mysterious time loop on the island of Blackreef, doomed to repeat the same day for eternity. As Colt, the only chance for escape is to end the cycle by assassinating eight key targets before the day resets.
It's an interesting concept but we don't expect anything less from Arkane who always deliver unique gameplay mechanics and experience.
