Cyberpunk 2077 is cementing itself in the gaming industry as one of the most successful launches ever, with all the launch issues aside. CDRP have revealed that over 13M copies have been sold already.
In the latest report published by CDPR on its official website, we were able to find out the estimated number of Cyberpunk 2077 copies sold by December 20.
The game may have met with negative criticism due to several things, but it doesn't seem that it affects much that the game sells like sausages during the Oktoberfest in Munich.
By December 20, gamers have purchased over over 13 million copies of Cyberpunk 2077 across all platforms. That is only ten days after the official launch of the game. Let that sink in for a minute.
Here is the official announcement from CD Projekt:
The Management Board of CD PROJEKT S.A. with a registered office in Warsaw hereby announces that, based on reports obtained from digital distribution platforms and data collected from physical distributors, it estimates that by 20 December inclusive gamers have purchased over 13 million copies of Cyberpunk 2077. This figure represents the estimated volume of retail sales across all hardware platforms.
CDPR have already revealed that by the first day, with 8 million copies of Cyberpunk 2077 preordered,
they covered all invested funds
, so these additional 5 million copies certainly make the current situation, in which the Polish developer have found themselves, much easier to cope.
