Camelot Unchained is the highly anticipated MMO war game that pits three realms against one another. It is being developed by City State Entertainment. The first beta date is 4 July 2018. Sharpen your axes.

Camelot Unchained is a game partially funded by Kickstarter and as such, some people have already had access to the Alpha tests based on the funds pledged to the game's development. There is, however, a large fan base from Dark Age of Camelot who didn't pledge enough for the early alpha access, but are closely monitoring the development progress and hoping for the beta to finally drop.

They will have their opportunity on 4 July 2018, provided they put their money where their mouth is. This may look like Early Access but the game's designer Mark Jacobs said this will not be the case, as this would be a violation of Steam's Early Access rules. City State Entertainment have also placed a countdown clock on their . If you're itching for a spot in the beta there is also a button where you can still pledge and gain access.

The test has been dubbed ''Beta 1'' and will focus on testing core game mechanics such as building, crafting, classes and racial bonuses. It will consist of a variety of events and players that want in to see the combat will have their piece of the cake as well.

City State Entertainment confirmed that there will be Saturday Night Sieges and Contested Islands as well as ''big and small'' fights. The big fights are one of the main aspects players want to see from Camelot Unchained, and CSE have confirmed these will span from hundreds to thousands of people fighting at the same time, with smooth performance.

Smooth performance with so many character on screen will be a massive feat of game optimisation that we sincerely hope City State Entertainment can pull off. It would bring a much needed refresh to large scale battles in MMOs of today.

Early Access and/or Open Beta phases are not planned yet, and their dates depend on how the game performs in Beta 1.
