Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is the next title in the Call of Duty series. The game is not a direct sequel but rather a continuation of the Black Ops saga from Treyarch and other Call of Duty studios, as the story will officially jump to a future timeline.
Unlike Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will officially feature the carry forward system. The carry forward system will port almost everything players use in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 to the new game. What is Carry Forward?
Carry Forward is a system that allows select content like weapons, Operators, and cosmetic items from a previous Call of Duty title to transfer into the next, when supported. It is designed to preserve your loadouts and personalisation across connected experiences. The first instance of carry forward was featured in the transition period between Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3.
Carry Forward Explained
As mentioned in the recent Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 reveal post, the new game will feature the ability to utilise a wide variety of content from Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. This mostly begins a few weeks after launch at the start of Season 1. Here’s what you can expect:
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 XP Tokens and Zombies GobbleGums will carry forward at the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. All Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 weapons, operators, and operator skins will carry forward at the start of Season 1 with some exceptions:
- Equipment and Scorestreak Skins for content unavailable in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will not carry forward.
- Equipment and Scorestreak Skins for content updated for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will not carry forward.
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 weapon camos will not be transferable to Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 weapons but will still be usable on Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 weapons.
Call of Duty: Warzone 2 integration will also begin at Season 1. All current content, including Operators, Weapons, and Weapon Blueprints from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Modern Warfare 3, and Black Ops 6, will carry forward.
