Black Desert Online's latest class - the Guardian will launch next week and her Awakening skills will become available two weeks after that. The Dark Knight Succession skills are now available. Dark Rifts all around the world are getting a time-limited boost.

New details for Black Desert Online's upcoming class have been announced by Pearl Abyss. The Guardian will see the light of day next week on 22 January and get the Awakening skills two weeks later - on 5 February.

With her Awakening skills in tow, the Guardian will wield the Jördun. The weapon is a massive polearm that burns with the holy flame of Ynix. The Guardian's Awakening skills will greatly improve her Area of Effect potential, thus enabling her to take on large groups of foes at once.

As part of the ongoing Succession update, another class will receive their Succession skills this week. Dark Knight will trade in her versatile Awakening skills for the Succession ones and wield updated skills along with her original main-weapon, the Kriegsmesser.

The players can choose to specialize in Succession skills which give them powerful versions of their main-weapon skills. The Succession abilities can be unlocked by reaching level 56 and accepting a quest from the Black Spirit companion.

The Dark Knight Succession is now available.

The new Guardian class is now free for pre-creation and the players who complete a questline in the pre-creation week can earn bonus in-game rewards such as an exclusive horn the Guardian can use to call her mount.

The new class will become available on 22 January and the Awakening update will arrive on 5 February.

Finally, the Dark Rifts all around the world are getting a time-limited boost. During the expansion period, monsters from Dark Rifts will become much stronger.

Expansion Period: from 15 January (after maintenance) until 12 February (before maintenance)

The following Dark Rift monsters will appear as Very Hard versions with the equivalent level of rewards:

  • Giath

The respawn time of the following Dark Rift monsters will increase by 30 per cent:

  • Giath
  • Dastard Bheg
