Dragon Ball FighterZ tournament presence raised some dust lately due to the events being cancelled, but Katsuhiro Harada of Bandai Namco stated they will support the game in the upcoming tournaments along with Tekken 7 and Soul Calibur 6.
Bandai Namco have been restructuring apparently, as Katsuhiro Harada is now the head of the company's Fighting Game eSports strategy team. He thanked the fans who participated and observed the Dragon Ball FighterZ, Tekken 7 and Soul Calibur 6 tournaments in 2018 in the same open letter where he announced the future of these games' eSports side.
According to Harada, Bandai Namco are "commited to expand the horizons of both tournament play and community scenes" of Dragon Ball FighterZ, Soul Calibur 6 and Tekken 7. The latter two were kind of a given, as they didn't encounter any controversies lately and neither were their events inexplicably cancelled.
The news will relieve Dragon Ball FighterZ fans who were afraid for the future of their beloved game when it comes to tournament play, but Harada's reassuring continued by stating that Bandai Namco are planning to "have as many official tournaments as possible" over the course of 2019.
This is not all, as Bandai Namco will keep supporting tournaments held by the community, hopefully without any interruptions this time around. Harada mentioned the company is still looking into more ways to assist tournaments and community activities in the future.
He also called for potential pro players to contact the local Bandai Namco offices in their regions, if they have any inquiries about holding a tournament or participating in an existing one. Regulations and languages may differ depending on the area, so Bandai Namco ephasises contacting the local offices.

Harada's should put many Dragon Ball FighterZ fans' fears to rest as the eSports scene for the game should be filled with events next year. It remains to be seen whether the game will get to keep its place at EVO though.
